Grade Crossing Engineering Project Manager 

Our Railroad team is seeking a Grade Crossing PM to join our Grade Crossing team in Fort Worth, TX. Benesch’s Railroad Division comprises highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working to design and maintain active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions for various rail projects. The ideal candidate for this position will excel in analysis, documentation, and reporting, efficiently manage correspondence, and provide timely progress updates. They ensure tasks are completed within budget and schedule, adhere to quality control procedures and design standards, and demonstrate leadership by supporting and training junior staff.

Location

This role is based at our Fort Worth, TX, office and requires travel to various project sites to meet project requirements.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Perform, document, and generate reports that detail analyses, investigations, and computations related to assigned activities.
  • Draft and manage correspondence regarding issues associated with assigned tasks.
  • Regularly report progress on work and the status of remaining tasks within the budget, and address other technical issues to the Project Manager.
  • Implement quality control procedures in accordance with the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Ensure completion of assigned tasks within the designated schedule and budget.
  • Familiarize oneself with and apply relevant design standards and codes.
  • Assist in training subordinates and offer support as needed.
  • Willingly take on any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

What You Will Need

  • Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Senior-level experience managing railroad Grade-Crossing safety projects and traffic signal engineering is required. 
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in traffic signal operations is preferred. 
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of appropriate software.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with applicable codes and standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of the principles and practices relevant to one or more areas of expertise.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Windows, and Microsoft Office products. #LI-MM1
